Newgrange is a prehistoric monument in County Meath in Ireland, located on a hill overlooking the River Boyne. It is a large passage tomb built during the Neolithic Period, around 3200 BC, making it older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. Newgrange is best known for the illumination of its passage and chamber by the rising sun at the Winter Solstice.
